Metroid for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom Disk System in Japan is the original game that started the Metroid series by Nintendo.

Door glitch

This glitch allows travel up and down through a wall. It can be used to enter many interesting areas. This can be done from the very start.

Go to any blue door. Shoot it open and stand where the door was and wait for the door to close. When it does, activate and deactivate the Morph Ball, without pushing left or right. This will allow you to slowly move up into the wall. The screen will not move with you, if you need it to, when near the top of the screen, repeatedly jump to move the screen to you.

If you even slightly push left or right you may embed yourself in the wall. There is no way to escape without a reset.
