(Improving slightly, I'll try to get information on the technical information too, I suppose that it is when bytes regarding the amount of seconds freeze at the maximum value (probably FFFFFF).)

The '''Berry glitch''' is a misnomer for a [[glitch]] which is related to the internal clock in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, when all clock-based events will freeze, including the growth of berries. It was officially patched in later versions of the Generation III games so it does not exist in Pokémon Emerald. The glitch causes all berries to stop growing, and occurs after the game's internal clock has been active for a currently unknown amount of time (possibly around 194 days which corresponds to 16777215 (or FFFFFF seconds). This happens because in order for berry growth to occur while the game is not on, the internal clock has to control it, and when the internal battery runs dry, the internal clock stops.
