The Cerulean Gym water tile encounters oversight applies to Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Gold and Silver, and is fixed in Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Crystal. In these versions, it is possible to fish for Pokémon in the gym using a Rod but Yellow and Crystal changed how the tiles work to not allow for Pokémon with a Rod, fixing a possible glitch.
