Passwords can be generated with a special unofficial password generator, such as [http://www.psypokes.com/gsc/timechange.php this one].
Alternatively, the Game Genie code C92-25B-3B6 will make any password work. However, while a Game Genie will theoretically work with Pokémon Gold on a Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance SP, it results in a solid white screen which makes it very difficult for the player to both enter the correct code and activate the clock reset screen. Curiously, the colour of the input glove and marker for the last input digit can differ between a Game Boy Advance SP and original Game Boy Color, but the digits entered are still invisible. It is not known whether a white screen occurs on an older Game Boy model.
Another means of activating the clock reset screen is through viewing a specific [[Glitch Unown]]{{elaborate}}; which causes the clock reset menu to appear upon reset, as the game believes the current time may be wrong.
