Before Pokémon Red and Green were officially translated into English various names were temporary used to represent Pokémon which had at that time had not currently been officially translated into English. These names were used to refer to the Pokémon in promotions in the United States, before the final English-language versions of the games were released. Below is a list of Pokémon with a different prototype names to their final names.
