Please note that this glitch only exists in the Japanese versions of the game, or is otherwise a glitch
from a Pokémon game which was only released in Japan.

The empty party glitch is a natural glitch which only occurs in Pokémon Red, Green, and Pokémon Blue (Japanese).

If the player obtains the Potion from their items pack at the beginning of the game and tries to use it without any Pokémon it will force-load an empty Pokémon menu.

In the empty Pokémon menu there is an arrow pointing to where the first Pokémon would be held and there is the message "どのポケモンに つかいますか?" (use on which Pokémon?).

It is not possible to view the summary of a Pokémon by pressing A as pressing A will act like B; closing the menu.

Force loading the party with no Pokémon.

In the localizations and Pokémon Yellow (Japanese) this glitch was amended and trying to use the Potion with no Pokémon results in the message "You don't have any POKéMON!" for Red and Blue or "You don't have a POKéMON!" for Yellow (Japanese: ポケモンが 1ぴきも いない!).
