The Encore disobedience glitch is a glitch in Japanese Pokémon Gold and Silver, involving the move Encore and a disobedient (outsider) Pokémon; such as one obtained via a trade. It was fixed in the international versions, and the (what is believed to be) unreleased Rev 2 of Japanese Gold and Silver that was unearthed from one of the[clarification needed] Nintendo data leaks since 2018.
The analysis of Rev 2 actually lead to its discovery; in which it seems the pret team did some initial work and SatoMew/Evie investigated further on Discord, but the details are vague because it's an account from 2020- and the exact discussions cannot currently be relocated.

Steps
- 1. Have a disobedient Pokémon (have a lack of badges and an outsider Pokémon; a Pokémon with a different Trainer ID or OT).
- 2. Successfully use a low damage move which will not faint the opponent. After a successful hit, the foe must use Encore and the move should successfully land.
- 3. Instead of being locked on to the move, have the user disobey by chance.
- 4. The game doesn't account for these set of events, causing the game to freeze.
