Glitch animations are invalid animations for move animations and other animations in the Pokémon series.

In Generation I

Move animations are defined in a data structure that defines the animation of a glitch move (usually equal to its index number), the effect of a move, its attack power, type, accuracy and base PP.

Invalid wCurOpponent (0xD057 in Red/Blue, 0xD056 in Yellow) values greater than 02 may also result in glitch animations when a Poké Ball is thrown.

A glitch animation may cause Tile Chaos.
