MissingNo. erasing save files
A very common glitch myth is that if the player captures a MissingNo. or 'M, his or her save file will be erased. While glitchy occurrences happen such as messed up graphics and messed up Hall of Fame data, they can not cause more significant damage to a save file such as erasing it (messed up graphics can be fixed by viewing the stats of a non-glitch Pokémon).
PokégodPokéGod rumors
PokégodPokéGod rumors are rumors of "secret" Pokémon, often in the Red, Blue, and Yellow versions of Pokémon. Common rumors include talking to Professor Oak a number of times earning the player a "PokégodPokéGod". Also, fake cheats involving hidden non-glitched maps, HMs above HM05, and happenings unfitting to the Pokémon series (e.g. Professor Oak giving the player a slap in the face) usually fall into this category, as they have no truth to them.
Receiving Mew without means of a glitch
There have also been rumors about people being able to receive Mew without a game-altering device or the Ditto or Mew Trick. The most common rumor involves talking to the man that gives the player a diploma after having all 150 Pokémon. Some said this only worked in the Japanese Versions of the games. Nevertheless, it is still false.
Line 14:
The so-called Celebi Glitch is a glitch myth saying that Celebi can be found in the grass of Route 123 in the Ruby and Sapphire versions of Pokémon. Reports have also existed of it appearing elsewhere. There is supposedly a very little chance of it appearing, such as a "1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000" chance. The glitch Pokémon '?' has also been said to appear like this. Though reports have existed of Celebi being found and captured on Route 123 or somewhere else, there is little chance that there is anything in the game's code that says that it can happen. It was probably something to do with the cartridge itself. This glitch myth is not to be confused with the actual glitch to obtain Celebi, the Celebi Trick.
