TheTerms termsuch as Infiniteinfinite Master Balls isor infinite Rare Candies are commonly used by players to refer to the result of a glitch orthat a game-altering device, which if repeated would potentially allowallows the player to recieve, use or useobtain an unlimited amount of Masteritems, Ballsif not all items.

Master Balls and Rare Candies are among the most commonly duplicated items.
The term may refer to a possible consequence of one of the following glitches:

Relevant glitches include:
#MISSINGNO. (name) - Any identifier for a glitch Pokémon which uses the error handler "MISSINGNO." may increase the amount of items the player has in the sixth item of the player's bag by either 128 or 255 if either its encounter flag or capture flag was activated, respectively. An exception to the process is if it the game would attempt to manage a value greater than 256, instead of reducing the item quantity by modulo 256, the game would not increase the quantity of the sixth item in the player's bag.
#Old Man Trick - The Old Man Trick is often referred to as the "Infinite Master Ball glitch" because of the fact that multiple variations of MISSINGNO, commonly the one with an identifier of 1F can appear on the land strip.
#Item Slot Duplication - After 255 Master Balls are recieved, the player can take advantage of the Item Slot Duplication glitch to recieve up to 5100 items in his or her item pack.
#Infinite Master Balls (Colosseum) - An oversight within Pokémon Colosseum for the possibility that on the first Pokémon's turn the player uses an item and on the second Pokémon's turn the player switches an item, which would prevent the item quantity from decreasing.
#Ditto Trick - By forcing a variation of MISSINGNO. to appear, the player is able to duplicate items in the same way that they are able to via the Old Man Trick.

#Old Man Trick (using item duplication glitch) - The Old Man Trick is sometimes referred to as the "infinite Master Ball glitch" because Missingno. can be encountered with it. Encountering Missingno. or 'M adds 128 to the quantity of the sixth item if it is already less than 128.

#Item stack duplication glitch - Can be used to duplicate Master Balls after obtaining a stack of 255 Master Balls. Tossing, selling or depositing all items in the item stack above it will replace the stack with another stack of 255 Master Balls, but the Cancel button is not shifted up after the player's numbers of items is reduced and the player's last item will work like Cancel.
#Infinite Master Balls (Colosseum) - A glitch in Pokémon Colosseum requiring a Double Battle, where the item quantity of an item, including Master Balls does not decrease.
#Trainer escape glitch/Ditto Trick - By forcing a variation of Missingno. to appear with the Trainer escape glitch or Ditto Trick (the fossil and ghost Missingno. work and never freeze the game in Pokémon Yellow), the player can duplicate items. Other glitch Pokémon can affect the player's items too (e.g. ▶ A in Red/Blue can add two to the sixth item position)
#Cable Club escape glitch - Can be used to duplicate items if the other player owns a certain glitch Pokémon, ideally Missingno.
#Yami Shop glitch - It's possible to buy Master Balls for free with this glitch.
#Generation III item duplication glitch - A derivative of the Generation III bit set glitch.

#Infinite Rare Candies
Pokémon cloning allows the player to clone an item from Generation II onward (where Pokémon can hold items), for example, the Battle Tower Pokémon cloning glitch can be used to duplicate Master Balls.

The player can also get Master Balls by accessing an expanded items pack.
