Instant victory in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow refers to a means of the player immediately ending a Pokémon battle before it ends.
During the battle
There are three known glitches capable of instant victory in these games:
- Move 0x00 corruption instant victory glitch
- Partial escape instant victory glitch
- ZZAZZ Glitch: Applies to ZZAZZ glitch Trainers, in which using a Poké Ball will end the battle.
Additionally, arbitrary code execution may be used to end the battle or force the opponent's HP to be 0.
Before the battle begins
Game Genie code C91-1EB-5D4 serves as an "instant win" code with a similar effect to Generation II. This is an artificial effect as Game Genie codes act as temporary ROM patches.
