Its name is taken from the Japanese version's unused untranslated "ゴールド" (Gold) string, resulting in mojibake. ゴールド is also the name of the hex:6F glitch item in Japanese versions.

Using this glitch item causes arbitrary code execution at address CDD1 in WRAM.
