The long-ranged trainer on Route 8 [https://github.com/pret/pokered/blob/725b86ebbec23bd1f53fd60bf0201c904fee951d/text/maps/Route8.asm#L4 says before battle] "You look good at POKéMON, but how's your chem?". Note this may also be an abbreviation, not an unfinished sentence.
This was [https://github.com/pret/pokefirered/blob/337c8177212e12d4a4ad2eee4324ae3d09a21e99/data/maps/Route8/text.inc#L3 changed in the remakes] to read "[...] but how's your chemistry grade?".
