A phantom Lavender Town in Pokémon Yellow. Note the warp Red is standing on is disabled.

A Phantom City or Phantom Town is a copy of a map in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow that appears for excessively high x-positions greater than the x-boundary and a type of Glitch City.

The term looping map glitch also refers to a method of accessing a Phantom City.

These maps typically loop around until the x-position is equal to 255 and have no NPCs or warps, and for every loop the player appears slightly below the y-position they were originally at.

They can be accessed by entering a new route from specific positions from another map in which the current x-position was +1 or more greater than the x-boundary.
