The Pikachu placeholder glitch Pokémon appear for invalid Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield, similar to the Marowak placeholder glitch Pokémon from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!. This includes the Pokémon that appears if the player has no Pokémon in the party, and has also been seen mysteriously named in battle " the Kalos Champion", though battling with no Pokémon may cause the player to instantly lose (black out).
