The '''Pokédex species glitch''' is a [[glitch]] which only occurs in version 1.0 of {{FRLG}}, where only the first word in a Pokémon's species name is displayed. For example, Pidgey is called the "Tiny" Pokémon instead of the "Tiny Bird" Pokémon.
 
In {{RSRSE}}, the species names for Pokémon are only one word, and this may explain why the glitch does not occur there. For example, in Pokémondespite Ruby and Sapphire thebeing speciesearlier namereleases forand Pidgeyfeaturing isspecies thenames "Tinybird"with Pokémon,more insteadthan ofone the "Tiny Bird" Pokémonword.
