'''Pokémon cloning''' refers to [[natural glitch]]es which allow the player to keep two copies of the exact same Pokémon. There are two known methods to do this in {{RBY}}.

==Save menu method==
This method was documented by Paco81. It is very risky and the save file could be destroyed if the timing when resetting is bad, but works.

Requires an empty space in your party.

===Procedure===
*Save the game in front of a Pokémon Center's PC.
*Deposit a Pokémon in tointo the Pokémon Storage System.
*Attempt to save the game, but reset the game as soon as the Yes/No box disappears in "Would you like to SAVE the game?" without the text updating.
*If done correctly, the player will have the same Pokémon in the party and storage system.

#On one game, trade the Pokémon to be cloned, and on the other, trade the one to be deleted.
#On the game originally having the Pokémon to be cloned, reset the game without saving. On the game where that Pokémon now resides, save.

Alternatively, the player can use the PC to clone his or her Pokémon, but this is '''NOT''' recommended as it usually corrupts the save battery and deletes the player's save file. (The method is the same for the 2nd generation of Pokémon games.)
