The Pokémon merge glitch, previously/also known as the Q Trick is a glitch in RBY as well as GSC, discovered by ACE91.

Using a Pokémon which has an index number of 255 (i.e. 'M (FF) in RB, Q in Y, ????? (FF) in GSC) it is possible for the player to create a Pokémon known as an unstable hybrid Pokémon, which has the attributes of two Pokémon.
Line 15 ⟶ 16:
Q can be obtained in Pokémon Yellow either by evolving a 4 4 Hy (which can be obtained with the Ditto Trick using a Special stat of 192), or trading an 'M (FF) from Pokémon Red and Blue.

Both 'M (FF) and Q may also be obtained with the Pokémon glitch, international Fossilfossil conversion glitch or arbitrary code execution.
