The Professor Oak Trainer glitch is an engine glitch in Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow, caused by a bug in the game's engine where removing the wall barriers on Sea Route 20 causes the trainers to turn into Professor Oak after talking to them. It was discovered by Crystal_ in 2020, documented by SailorMoonFan01 and analyzed by ChickasaurusGL.

Procedure

  1. Enable Brock Through Walls in Pewter City,
  2. Fly to Cinnabar Island

  5. Once that is done go back to the signpost that reads Seafoam Islands
  6. Turn around and talk to the trainer with no encounters
  7. Once talking to the trainer it will turn into Professor Oak
