The '''S.S. Anne Ship Truck''' is simply a truck which has been placed on a strip of land at the Vermilion Harbor right of the S.S. Anne dock.
 
The '''S.S. Anne Ship Truck''' is simply a truck which has been placed on a seperate strip of land to the right of the S.S. Anne dock. The truck is typically not seen throughin normal gameplay because in order for the gameplayer to displayget thenear truck on the screenit, the player wouldmust usually requireuse the move Surf so that he or she could access the seperate strip of land. SinceIn legitimateorder Pokémon can only learn Surf through the use of HM03for the player would have to reachuse FuschiaSurf, Cityhe firstor whichshe at that time the player wouldmust have presumably obtained HM01 (Cut) from the captainSoul inBadge thefrom S.S.[[bp:Fuchsia AnneCity|Fuchsia Ship causing the ship to set sail after the player leaves through the exitCity]].
 
Normally, before the player can obtain the Soul Badge in Fuchsia City he or she must obtain a HM01 (Cut) from the captain on the S.S. Anne to teach Cut to a Pokémon and reach Lavender Town from Cerulean City. After the player receives HM01 (Cut) from the captain and leaves the S.S. Anne by walking it causes the S.S. Anne to set sail; preventing access to the Vermilion Harbor and the S.S. Anne truck without glitches.
One way to see the '''S.S. Anne Ship Truck''' through the use of a glitch is for the player to have acquired Cut from the Captain, and then have all of his or her Pokémon faint while still on the ship. The player would re-appear at the previously visited Pokémon Center, and the ship would not have set sail, which is unusual because Nintendo usually expected the '''S.S. Anne Ship Truck''' to leave after the player obtains HM01 (Cut). After this glitch, the player can make it through the game until HM03 (Surf) is obtained, and then head back to the S.S. Anne and surf to the right platform.

Alternatively, the player can use the [[Surfing glitch]] which takes advantage of the fact that when using the move Surf the player will, by default move south; in this case through the S.S. Anne Ship guard.
 
Mew was [[Glitch Myths|rumored]] to be available by pushing the S.S. Anne Ship Truck with Strength, however this rumor was proven to be false (although such a trick is possible with [[arbitrary code execution]] and using Strength on the truck is a means of finding Mew in the ROM hack Pokémon TPP Red).
Another method is to simply trade a pokemon that already knows cut from another game, then proceeding till you get surf.

In {{XD}} there is a hidden [[Easter egg]] referencing the truck by a Trainer known as Beauty Ogoin. Beauty Ogoin appears randomly on the normal setting in VS Mode Quick Battles and states prior to the battle, "There's no POKéMON under a truck, maybe you'll just find a MUK! Do you like it? I'm writing a song!" When she is defeated, her loss text is: "Aiyeeh! I can't battle as well as I write songs!".

#Trade in a Pokémon with the move Cut, so that there is no need for the player to talk to the S.S. Anne captain and cause the ship to set sail.
#Acquire Cut from the captain on the S.S. Anne but black out from the S.S. Anne instead of leaving normally in order to prevent the ship from setting sail.
#Use the [[Surf down glitch]] to Surf through the NPC who checks for an S.S. Ticket or states that the ship set sail.
#Use the [[expanded items pack]] to warp to the Vermilion Harbor (e.g. by adjusting the quantity of item 36 (the exit destination) to 0x5E.
#Use the [[99 item stack glitch]] to warp to the Vermilion Harbor.
#Use [[arbitrary code execution]] to warp to the Vermilion Harbor.
