This glitch is most commonly used to fish in Gyms, to surf in the statues and thus [[Go to Agatha from Lance\|go back to Agatha from Lance]] (also using the [[Surfing glitch]]). There exists a glitch in Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow version that allows Surf to be used successfully when facing the lower tile of a statue.
