The Rage behaviour glitch, sometimes referredrefers to asa the Mimic Transform Rage glitch or simply the Transform glitch refers to amajor glitch in the handheld Generation IV Pokémon games. When performed, the player's Pokémon will have permanently copied the moveset of another Pokémon knowing the move Rage.

This glitch happens when the player uses the move Rage, whilst under the effects of Transform, Substitute, Infatuation, or Torment. Using the move Rage will cancel out the effects of one of these moves when the player recieves the "Rage is building..." message. This glitch is heavily exploited when the player uses it whilst under the effects of Transform. This part of the glitch (regarding Rage and Transform) is commonly referred to as the Mimic Transform Rage glitch or simply the Transform glitch. After performing this "sub-glitch" the player's Pokémon will have permanently copied the moveset of another Pokémon knowing the move Rage.

Explanation
The "Mimic Transform Rage glitch", in theory is caused when the game attempts to cancel out the effects of Transform but does not revert the moves or (temporary in-battle sprite) of that Pokémon back to the original moveset or sprite. The Rage behaviour glitch in theory instantly changes the Pokémon's state back to its normal state without reverting any other important values. However, the exact cause of the Rage behaviour glitch is unknown, because it does not cancel out other effects such as those of Taunt, Embargo, Aqua Ring, Disable, Leech Seed, Ingrain, Magnet Rise or Drowziness (from the move Yawn).
