Map data for a glitched building which is apparantly in Goldenrod City according to the Pokégear exists in Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal occupying hexadecimal identifiers 21 and FF for the bytes which manage the location and room-number respectively.
Map 21FF is a glitch map in English GS. As its name suggests, its map bank is 21 and map ID is FF. In the English version of Pokémon Gold/Silver it does not freeze the game.

According to the Pokégear, map 21FF may be in Blackthorn City or Goldenrod City.fact
Since no music plays for this location it could signify that it is playing 'glitch music' as most unused slots for music in the game correspond to no notes being played at all. Normally when first entered the whole room will appear pitch-black with the exception of yellow tiles which seem to dissappear in a short period of time. However the player can use Flash to reveal two sections of white tiles; some of these being part of ordinary objects or symbols such as the Pokeéollar sign. A blank 4x4 tile seperates these two sections from each other, it is close to the top of the map with glitchy tiles north of the player and a long row of glitchy tiles south of the player.

The equivalent glitch map freezes the game in the Japanese version and in English Pokémon Crystal. In English Pokémon Crystal the equivalent glitch map may belong to Mt. Silver (v1.0) or Special (v1.1) and play no music.
This map has a large magnitude for the vertical scale but is very 'thin' as it has a very small magnitude for the horizontal scale and if the player uses a walk through wall code through the use of a game-altering device he or she can to move five steps to the left or right and will be transported into a Glitched version of Route 23.

Accessing map 21FF
A strange fact about this map is that even though Flash can be used to 'light the area up' (which is typical of an ordinary cave) neither Dig or Teleport can be used to escape from it, which in a sense makes this a completely unique map. Since Fly also cannot be used to escape this area it is not reccommended to save in it because the only way to escape it would be to use an game-altering device for example, by tricking the game into making either Fly, Teleport, or Dig available to use through the use, otherwise the player would have to start a New Game.
Map 21FF can be accessed when entering a door with the codes 012144D0 and 01FF45D0 activated, but it cannot be explored without the following walk through walls codes: 0108A3CE, 0108A4CE, 0108A5CE, 0108A6CE. The map is long, but very narrow.

Properties
When entered from an ordinary door the player will appear at the north-west corner of the blank 4x4 tile used to seperate two sections of the map. As a result of this the player can only move one tile to the north which acts like the door in any trade center door in a Pokémon Center which will make the player move downwards again.

No music (track 00 according to memory address C1A9) plays in the map. The map is very narrow, only being two tiles thick but it is actually long. If the player steps out of bounds they may get a Glitch Dimension or actually be taken to another map (which has the Route 27 music playing). There are tiles in the map that force the player to move in a certain direction, including south and east.
If the player uses walk through walls to move downwards it is still difficult to move any further because of various tiles which will push the player back northwards; therefore another procedure must be used to move through most of this map's tiles.

When the room is first entered it will appear pitch-black except for its two tile wide path which is mainly white. 'Yellow dot pattern' tiles can be seen in the room.
Procedure (Pokemon Gold/Silver)
The player can use Flash to brighten up the room. The room appears to use a tileset based on the Ruins of Alph (perhaps it is that tileset) as Unown markings can be seen.
1. Enter the GameShark codes 01XX44D0 and 01XX45D0 for when XX is 21 and FF respectively; when the game boots up keep the switch off.

Though Flash can be used to light the area up, like in a cave, neither Dig or Teleport can be used to escape from the map. Fly cannot be used to escape from the map either.
2. Before entering any door turn the switch on and the player will appear in the blank 4x4 tile.

3.Even (Optional)after Use Flash andusing the above walk through walls code, tothe player cannot walk aroundthrough thiscertain glitchpositions on the map from all directions.
