Pokédex sorting 0x42 is a glitch Pokédex sorting in Pokémon Crystal.
Effect
- Opening the listing may load a split screen of a solid white background with a black 'zigzag' pattern and the left-corner of the Pokédex listing on the right. Upon closing the menu the overworld may appear mainly white/cream colored with an invisible menu. The cream sections may change to gray upon closing the menu. This corruption disappears if the menu is opened again, the player moves to another map, or the player gets a phone call.
- Pressing Select to get to the mode selection screen may result in a white screen game freeze
When accessed with C7D8 method
- Pressing A may result in arbitrary code execution at region C901 in RAM. Can exit with only a ret with no known issues.
