1. Start a new game.
#Start a new game.
#When the player has gotten through the "Welcome to the world of Pokémon!" opening, they should go outside and save before obtaining their starter Pokémon.

2.. When you've gotten through the generic "This is the world of Pokémon" opening, go outside and save before you go to get your starter.
#The player should continue through the game normally until they get to a point where Pokémon can be caught. Note: Do NOT save the game at anytime during this step.
#Catch a Pokemon and then go to the Pokemon Center in Cherrygrove City.

#Perform the [[Pokémon Cloning (Generation II)|Cloning glitch]] and then clone the starter Pokemon. Note:The player should NOT save in front of the PC.
3. Continue through the game normally until you get to a point were you can catch Pokemon.
#If the clone was successful, the player will be in the location where they last saved, which should be before they got a starter Pokémon.
Note: Do NOT save your game at anytime during this step.
#Go into Prof. Elm's Lab and pick a different starter with the starter the player just chose in his or her party.

4. Catch a Pokemon, then go to the Pokemon center in Cherrygrove City.
#Go to the Pokemon Center in Cherrygrove and the original Starter Pokémon will be in the PC.
#To get the last starter, start at step three and repeat up to step eight.

5. Perform Cloning Glitch amd clone your starting Pokemon.
Note: Do NOT save in front of the PC.

6. If the clone was successful, you will be where you last saved, which should be before you got your starter.

7. Go into Prof. Elm's Lab and pick a different starter with the starter you just chose still in your party.

8. Go to the Pokemon Center in Cherrygrove and your original starter will be in the PC.
