????? is the name of an unavailable item in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow with index number 07. It is nicknamed the "surfboard" by some people. If it is used while facing water it will act as the field move Surf, allowing the player to travel on water.

When the item is used, the game will say "(PLAYER) got on ?????!" if they were facing water or "No SURFing on ????? here!" otherwise.

This item can also be used in battle. If the player wasn't facing water before entering battle the message "No SURFing on ????? here!" will appear like outside of battle, otherwise if the player was facing water (e.g. by fishing a wild Pokémon beforehand) the "(PLAYER) got on ?????!" message will appear and the music will change to the surfing music. Due to the game switching to another sound bank this can cause incorrect music to play in battle for the move sound effects.
