Japanese Red/Green
#The closed menu Select glitch is possible in the original revision of Pokémon Red and Green (v1.0) by pressing Select on an item from within battle, pressing B once and then entering the Pokémon or moves screen to swap an unintended Pokémon or move. In Rev A, this was fixed although it is still possible to perform a closed menu Select glitch by pressing Select outside of a battle before entering a battle or bringing up the Pokémon menu through another means (Day Care, Name Rater or Cerulean City badge man).
#In v1.0, an error message will appear after connecting to the Pokémon Cable Club Trade Center or Colosseum if the user or other player has an "A" (hex:60) as the first character in their name. If it is player 1 with "A" (hex:60) in their name the message「じぶんの データがこわれています!」 ("My data is corrupted") will be displayed. If it is player 2 it's the same message but あいての (partner's) instead of じぶんの (my) as in "My partner's data is corrupted". Furthermore, this message actually takes up two text box sentences with the second text box saying "でんげんを きって やリなおしてください。" but since it is seemingly impossible to advance the text box it may be unused. If two Red/Green v1.0 are connected with the bad name, it is believed (confirmed on emulator only) the first message will loop indefinitely. If one version is Red/Green v1.0 and the other isn't, then it is possible to have one screen waiting before the trade list comes up and one screen with the loaded trade screen. It is possible to get the game to perform actions you didn't actually choose to do this way (the initial prompt for trading one side's Pokémon 1 with the other's Pokémon 1 if the v1.0 has the "A" (hex:60)) and if the v1.1 is the only game with the "A" (hex:60) attempting to trade may bring up a glitchy party for the other player's side, where freezes and glitchy music can occur.<ref>Corrupted data Trade Center/Colosseum error message (Red/Green v1.0) YouTube video by Evie (ChickasaurusGL) (User:Evie (Torchickens)). #Unintentionally, the glitch item "Gold Badge" (Japanese: ゴールドバッヂ) has a different effect in Red and Green Rev A (as well as Japanese Blue); where it will only make the menu invisible instead of bringing up a visible glitch mart.
#Locations of internal functions in the ROM were changed.
