Glitch derivatives or sub-glitches are tricks that can be exploited by glitches that require another glitch. These are contrasted with natural glitches.

Examples of glitch derivatives are the dokokashira door glitch from Pokémon Red, Green, and Pokémon Blue (Japanese) (a derivative of the select glitch), the old man trick from localizations of Pokémon Red and Blue (a derivative of the left-facing shore tile glitch), the Generation III bit set glitch (a derivative of the Pomeg glitch from Pokémon Emerald) and the ZZAZZ glitch (a derivative of the Ditto trick from Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, which is a derivative of the Trainer escape glitch).
