The Transform buffer overflow glitch occurs in Pokémon Gold and Silver whenever a Pokémon transforms into a ?????. It is probably due to those glitch Pokémon's internal sprite dimensions like how they force a link battle when encountered in the wild (even though the sprite is restricted to the typical reasonably sized looking 
variant).
Unfortunately a Glitch Dimension may prevent this glitch from having any practical use (although it is another way of activating one, and it hasn't been checked if it causes any mailbox glitches/Trainer House corruptions yet).
Steps
- Get a ????? with any of the possible methods.
- Encounter Ditto on Route 34.
- Have it Transform into ?????
