In Pokémon Platinum the Battle Park was upgraded and replaced with the Battle Frontier; which featured extra battle facilities and an upgraded Battle Tower. However, leftover map data still exists for the exterior of the original Battle Tower from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl within the game. Note that there is no shadow on the building and that the scenery hasn't been updated to comply with Platinum's standards.
Bulbapedia also has an article about Battle Park (Platinum).

A leftover map from the Battle Park for the original exterior of the Battle Tower in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl still exists within the coding of Pokémon Platinum. However, the Battle Park is no longer accessible through normal gameplay because it had been replaced with the Battle Frontier which featured more Battle Facilities such as the Battle Arcade and the Battle Factory.

Since a new map was designed for the exterior of the Battle Tower to comply with Pokémon Platinum's upgraded graphical standards the older map for the Battle Tower's exterior is no longer accessible within the game without the use of a game-altering device. It is notable that unlike the updated map which was eventually released in the final game, this older map does not feature any shadow effects on the Battle Tower building.
