*This glitch can also be used to force unhatched Eggs to battle. To do this, have an Egg be the only Pokémon in your party other than the Pokémon being affected, then make that Pokémon faint by healing it (or by losing only 1 HP from the Pomeg Berry). Switch the egg into the first slot in your party, and enter a battle. The Pokémon inside the egg will battle (with an egg-colored sprite), and can gain experience points in this way.

Miscellaneous glitches of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald

The Pomeg Berry Glitch allows you to get an abnormal amount of HP in Pokémon Emerald.

Requirements

  • Several Pomeg berries
  • A Pokémon with one to three HP.

Procedure

Get a Pokémon to one HP and give it a Pomeg berry. Its HP should fall past zero and reset to 65535. The effect of HP loss varies between Pokémon. Some Pokémon lose one HP with the first berry and two with the second. You need to find out how much HP your Pokémon loses. If a Pokémon were to lose one HP every time, then this glitch would not work.

Additional purposes

  • This glitch can also be used to force unhatched Eggs to battle.
