The Tower Tycoon; treated as a trainer whom is part of a streak Note that this speech is normally never used in the final game.

The Tower Tycoon event skip is a miscellaneous glitch which only exists within Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The glitch will happen when the player reaches the Tower Tycoon but instead of choosing the option 'KEEP GOING' immediately, he or she selects 'REST' first, but selects 'NO' to proceed to the next trainer.

When activated, the next trainer which appears will appear on the map as an ordinary trainer but will display the dialogue "Now come! Show me, the Tower Tycoon what you're really made of!" This string of dialogue is normally never used within the game and may have been intended as the original message Palmer gives to the player, however the game instead normally makes Palmer appear and walk up to the player and inform him or her that he is Barry (or the name of the player's rival)'s father.

When the player battles this trainer, he or she will appear as the normal Tower Tycoon but if he is defeated, the player will receive the default amount of battle points, rather than the usual 20 (or more) battle points.

Method

  1. Reach the 21st Streak of the Battle Tower (i.e. clear it three times consecutively)
  2. Select the option 'REST'
  3. Select the option 'NO'
  4. The game should treat the Tower Tycoon as an ordinary trainer.
